Provifrost KF ECO | Liquid Runway Deicer | Rock Salt for Runways

Provifrost KF ECO, Liquid Runway Deicer

A potassium formate based liquid runway de-icer which replaces glycol and urea based liquid deicers and is generally selected for its extremely low environmental impact, high perofrmance and corrosive inhibitors. No other runway de-icing fluid has a lower BOD and this is therefore the product of choice in instances where run off water requirements are strictly controlled.

Benefits

  • Safe for runways: meets FAA approved specifications
  • Safe for the environment: non-persistent, biodegradable, very low BOD
  • Fast: runways are available sooner
  • Staying power: works longer, requiring fewer applications
  • Easy to apply: applied with existing equipment
  • Passes all material compatibility test per AMS 1435

Performance and application

  • Excellent anti-icing characteristics
  • Active at low temperatures (-50° C)
  • Less slippery than glycol-based products
  • Application
  • De-icing: see data on downloadable datafolder
  • Anti-icing: 25g/m²
  • Reapply when new accumulation shows first tendency to bond
  • Plow often to reduce fluid dilution
  • Pre-wetting - apply at spreader outlet at a rate of 100g/kg of solid de-icer

Environment

  • For use in sensitive environmental areas
  • Extremely Low BOD
